RICHARD DUA - ANSAH

BOARD MEMBER

Richard Dua-Ansah is a Legal Practitioner and an Intellectual Property Attorney in Ghana. Richard had his Secondary education at St. Peter’s Boys Senior High School in Nkwatia-Kwahu. He proceeded to the University of Ghana where he pursued and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science with Philosophy and later a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. 

He also obtained a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law, upon successful completion of which he was called to the Bar to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana in 2011. Richard thereafter obtained his Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property from the Africa University, Zimbabwe. He has undertaken a Training Course for Intellectual Property Practitioners organized by the Japan Patent Office in Tokyo, Japan. He has also pursued short courses in Securities courses at the Ghana Stock Exchange, Project Management and Real Estate Management. 

Richard teaches Intellectual Property Law at the UPSA Law School and occasionally teaches the course in some private universities in Ghana. He has published two journal articles in the African Journal of Intellectual Property, and has made a number of presentations on various aspects of intellectual property rights. 

Richard is a Christian of the reformed tradition and fellowships with the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Nantoma Memorial Congregation, Kanda – Accra where he plays the organ and loves to teach music especially to children.
